The reservoir is an important part of the water supply in Monmouth County. The 5.1 mile gravel Perimeter Trail offers a fantastic view of the reservoir and is a great trail for all users. The Visitor Center on Windeler Road has boating activities, fishing and bicycle rentals.
We parked at the Environment Center and began our ride around the lakeshore. The trail loops all the way around the reservoir and is well-maintained. We biked this trail in July 2015 and enjoyed being right next to the water and sometimes in the woods.
There is a 1.1 mile Cove Trail around the Environmental Center and is open to pedestrians only.
