NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
Buford Trout Hatchery Lake Lanier Island Park
This is the Bowman's Island Unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The hardest part of this hike were the two loops that are hills.
This is not a favorite hike for us and the path is not heavily used. In some places the Chattahoochee River is visable. The trail never crosses onto Bowman's Island.
DIRECTIONS FROM ATLANTA: Take GA 400 North and take exit # 14 (GA State Road 20/Cumming Hwy). Turn Left at third light onto Nuckolles Road Turn Right at dead-end onto Buford Dam Road. Drive 5 miles and will cross the dam Turn right onto Island Ford Road and travel 0.9 miles. Entrance on the right.
