Mill Creek Nature Center is a wetlands/wildlife preserve owned by the Georgia Wildlife Federation. This 88-acre across from the Mall of Georgia was donated to GWF by the Mall of Georgia partners.
The program manager for the Mill Creek Nature Center is Hank Ohme. His email address is: [email protected] and their website is www.gwf.org. Hank spends a lot of time on the trail inspecting the trails and taking beautiful nature pictures.
The steps leading down from Mall of Georgia Blvd take you to the trail head. Turning left will take you to the end of the trail at Gravel Springs Road. Turning right will connect you to the Ivy Creek Greenway. There are paths leading off the trail into the wetlands on boarded paths.
There are trails through the wetlands and boardwalk paths with two bridges crossing over Ivy Creek and an observation tower. There is also a fifteen-bench and stage amphitheatre for educational use.
Volunteers are constantly working hard to improve and maintain these beautiful trails. The boyscouts have built numerous wooden paths and benches throughout this area.
